We are so glad to be back in the Quad Cities. Have to say we miss the SW. Thea (my daughter's middle child is living with us. So much fun. Thea's oldest daughter Tacey graduated from Columbia College in Chicago. My son Chad's oldest daughter, Alex, is at IL State. His youngest daughter is a senior in high school. Beth's youngest of 4 is starting kindergarten. We miss Thea so much. She and my other two are the loves of my life, as are my 9 grandchildren. We spend a lot of our time going to basketball and volleyball. So Proud. [Aug2016]

We are moving back to the QC soon!!  Lots of family (3 children, 6 and granddaughters, 2 grandsons and another granddaughter due September 16th) and friends.  We are busy with hiking, picnics, going to the natural hot springs and a lot more activities in this beautiful area.  But there is nothing like family!!  My husband, Jim, skied this year for the first time in 17 years.  He is an international ski instructor and he and I are so happy he has gotten back into it!!  I am a snow and river tuber (closer to the ground).  I love it.  The kids and grandchildren are doing great.  Busy with sports, dancing, singing, pom-poms, and much more.  We can't wait to be involved in their activities.  Just reading a book to the little ones and hugs and kisses from all of them.  What a true blessing we have been given.  [July2011]

Monica and I live in Orlando, Florida, but will be departing August 2007 for places unknown.  We are both employed by the DOD, and our location here got caught up in the government down sizing initiative called Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC).  I am looking forward to the move, but Monica likes the weather down here and all our moving options are for sites up north.  Monica is the Orlando Transition Officer responsible for getting the 250 employees here new jobs within DOD if they want to stay with the agency, or placement with state and local authorities if they don't want to move.  She is the one who will turn off the lights and lock the doors, so we'll to be the last to move.

Monica and I were married in Copenhagen, Denmark twenty-six years ago, and have a son Michael who is attending King College in Bristol, Tennessee on a baseball scholarship.  I have two daughters, Stacie and Stephanie, living in Cedar Rapids with their husbands and our six grandchildren.  We still have Michael's replacement at home, a Maltese named Missy.

I spent twenty-three years in the Army, retiring as a First Sergeant E8 in 1988, and it looks like I will probably take an early retirement from federal service next August when this office closes.  'Welcome to Wal-Mart' could be my next career.  Monica still has about ten years before she can retire, so our final retirement plans have not been formulated.  [Feb 2006]

Last year 2007, I researched into who my birth parents were and after some intensive paperwork and lots of anticipation and disappointment, I have discovered who both of my birth parents are.  Unfortunately they are both deceased, so I will not get a chance to meet either of them, but I did find out that I have a very extensive family, closer than what I ever imagined.  Now to the real reason I need to post this -- I found out that my birth father is Linda Turnipseed Davis' uncle.  After being best friends in high school and still keeping in touch, we are actually related!!!  We were so excited with this news.  Linda has given me family pictures of my father and my newly found aunts and uncles AND I have cousins all over the country who have contacted me.  What are the odds?  [July2008]

Since the last writing I have retired from teaching 3rd grade in Davenport but still work as a Testing Assistant for Davenport Schools.  Just can't get away from those students!  I also work at What's For Dinner Tonite? located just minutes away from my condo.  It's Totally different from teaching and it's GREAT!!
My son and daughter still live close by in Davenport and my four-year-old twin grandaughters are the light of my life.  I spend as much time as I can with them.  How did they get so smart!!  [Mar2006]

I'm still married to Ron, who is self-employed with a handyman/construction business and loves it.  I still teach third grade in Davenport and love it, although it is trying these days.  Kids/parents are changing more each year.
Looking forward to retirement.  We are now the very, very proud grandparents of identical twin girls born premature on January 10, 2002.  So far they are doing well and now are both home.  My daughter Sara and her husband live right across from the school where I teach, so I get to hold the girls every day.  Soon they are moving to NW Davenport, so I guess I'll be back to my boring lunchtime.  My son Scott and my son Mark and his wife recently each bought new homes in Davenport.  I am very fortunate to have all my family here in town.  [Feb2002]

After attending Illinois State University fresh out of Rocky High, I find myself back there again after all these years - this time teaching undergrads instead of being one.  My path to 'Normal' (Bloomington actually) led me through Streator, Dwight, and Northbrook, Illinois and even Denver, Colorado.  I've enjoyed a long teaching career in a variety of positions and I'm taking this semester off to see if 'retirement' is the right thing for me.  [Aug2011]

Del retired a year ago (July,2010) and we bought a pontoon boat.  We are enjoying cruising the lakes of Central Florida watching the beautiful Florida birds, alligators, turtles, and all the great scenery there is along the waterways.  We have our kids and grandkids nearby, and we often have all of them with us when we go on our "adventures."  We built a new house, which we plan to stay in FOREVER!  It overlooks a little lake, and we are enjoying gorgeous sunsets.

We would love to hear from friends.  Give us a call when you're in Central Florida.  It was great seeing Paul and Priscilla Maxfield when they were in town a few months ago.  It was so exciting to find out a few years ago that my best friend in highschool, Char (Turner) Sissel, is actually my cousin.  My grandma and her biological father were sister and brother!  What a surprise!  That is just an awesome story!  Sorry we are not going to be able to make it to this year's reunion, but we'll try for the next one.  [June2011]
