I retired in 2004 from TMCSEA after 34 years of teaching special education at Schramm Educational Center. I volunteer at the school every day I'm in town. I don't doubt whenever any of us thinks about it, we all say "WOW! Has it really been 50 years?". My mind hardly admits it as readily as my body, even though I have to say I've been very fortunate health wise. Minneapolis has been good to me. After high school I did a bit of college, then 4 years in the Navy, came back home for 4 years doing 2 years at Blackhawk college, moved on to Minneapolis to finally finish a degree @ the U of M in '82 while working as a carpenter. I worked for a few builder/developers as a designer until about '92, then started a very small residential design business here in Minneapolis which has kept me afloat and continues to allow me to keep designing and servicing clients. Don't know when that will end, but I still enjoy it. I have 2 sons, Corey and Zowie, now in their 40's, from my 1st marriage which ended after about 14 years. Both have their own partners and both are living in the midwest. My life partner Sandra and I have been together for over the last 30 years. I have been able to be in her daughter Rasheda's life since she was 6 years old and consider her to be my daughter, as Sandra considers Corey and Zowie to be her sons. We also have a daughter together, Kiah, now 26. Both our daughters are living on the west coast. Sandra retired this last March. We continue to stay connected to our kids and to enjoy family. [2016]

Hi everyone. I am living in Rock Island, so I haven't gone very far away. I enjoy the local activities and sporting events like following "The Rocks." The basketball state championship was special. I am working at the Arsenal in the Dept of Logistics. In addition to other duties, I am primarily the material POC for the Hazardous Material Management System. My old bicycle is now a 2-speed (I finally bought a new one) and my MG is still in need of repair. My daughter Anna is married, living in Springfield, and works as the Community Relations Coordinator for the Central Illinois Blood Center. She and her husband are both involved in Springfield's "Muni" theatre and other local productions. This year they have been or will be in "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," "The Wizard of OZ," and "Ragtime." They couldn't be happier. That's it for now. We have been richly blessed over the past five years with the birth of four new grandchildren. The newest arriving this May. While we attained the title of "Grandparent" later than most, we have received six babies in a mere eight years. They fill every "nook and cranny" of our hearts...and lives. My husband recently retired as a pharmacist - well kinda, sorta. We are very grateful that we remain very healthy and very happy to still be sharing joy and this journey together. [Aug2016]
