I am a cancer survivor!  I also have survived two major back surgeries, although I had to go on disability.  My husband, Rick, died after a long battle with MS.  I currently live with my daughter and her family and thoroughly enjoy spending time with her four beautiful children and helping out as much as I can!  My son and his wife just had my 5th grandchild in April.  Wow, ya gotta love those grandkids!  [July2011]

We retired and moved a year ago to New Bern, NC, which is on the inland eastern coast of NC near Cherry Point MCAS and Morehead City, and reminds us of home in Rock Island because of the Neuse and Trent rivers.  We love it here.  The weather is great.  Only news anyone may be interested in is that my youngest brother, Guy (class of 74) died suddenly last Sept 1 from a brain hemorrhage.  We miss him terribly.  [Aug2016]

Retired from B&B this year.  Just enjoying farming and being at home with peace and quiet.  [Aug2011]

Winter Address: 7656 Sweetbay Circle, Bradenton, FL 34203. Retired from Allstate Insurance-litigation claims rep in 2009. Loving retirement and all the freedoms it brings. Would love to welcome classmates to my Florida condo. My three daughters all live in Michigan and let me spoil my 4 grandchildren- ages 12, 5, 4, and 2. My 5-year-old grandson was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and has had three open heart surgeries so I have become very active in the University of Michigan "Zipper Club". Have traveled to Europe twice as well as Mexico, the Caribbean and Canada which is just across the Detroit River from me.  [July2016]

I've been divorced for 28 years and have a 31 year old son I raised by myself.  I also have a 4-year-old GrandDog (Rottweiler) named Hershey who is spoiled rotten.  Probably good that I don't have any grandchildren or I'd have to get a second job to spoil them.  I've worked for the Federal Government for 33 years, looking forward to retirement in 2003.  I can't wait.  Then I can pursue my passion, traveling.

I love to travel.  I've been to all but two of the continental United States (don't know how I missed Delaware and New Jersey), some of them several times.  I've taken several trips to Europe, visiting Ireland, Germany (three times), Austria (twice), Switzerland, Italy, and this September I leave for London, Paris, and Rome.  We'll be traveling by train so that will be something different.

There are two countries that I really want to see, Greece (maybe in 2003) and Scotland.  Visions of heather blooming on the hills of Scotland has always been a picture I can't erase from my mind.

I'll look forward to hearing from friends.  I must warn you, though, I only go on the computer at home about once a week.  So, if you write and you don't get an answer right away, don't fret.  I'll get back to you eventually.  [Jul2001]

No news is good news. We are both retired now. Doing a bit of Traveling. Enjoying good health. Have a great reunion. My Brother Frank Coulter still lives in Colorado Springs, CO. His wife recently passed away. He still drives a city bus (his job after retirement) Loves it. His 2 favorite things Driving and talking to people. He has one son Vincent.  [July2016]

Hi guys!  I wonder how many of you actually remember me without looking in the Yearbook.  I have been married to Ron for 31 years.  He grew up in New Boston, IL.

We have two kids, my son Christopher, whom Ron adopted after our marriage, and Ronda.  Chris is marrried to an Aussie girl and lives in Melbourne, Australia.  He is a computer systems engineer with two sons, James 16, and Jeff 12.

Our daughter Ronda is married with one daughter, Mckaylyn, 5, and is expecting her Miracle child.  Ronda is an LPN working in the Grinnell, Iowa area.  A year and a half ago she suffered several left temporal strokes at the age of 28.  The doctors in Iowa City could not find the reason she had them.

I work in the nursing field as a Certified Medication Aide.  I really love what I do, although it is hard on the back and sometimes on the nerves.  Ron was in the Army for many years, so we got to travel the world a lot.  He now works in research and development for Bandag, Inc.  He is a Certified Quality Technician going for Certified Quality Engineer, so we do okay.

I would love to get to a reunion sometime.  Sounds like fun.  Please e-mail me if you want.  [Jul2002]

Enjoying retirement after almost 40 years with the Indiana State Department of Health Laboratories in Indianapolis. Have 2 energetic granddaughters now 4 and 1 year old. Looking forward to returning to Quad City area after many years to see former classmates. [Aug2016]

I retired from the Indiana State Department of Health Laboratories after 39+ years of service. I started as an entry level chemist and retired as the Director of the Environmental Microbiology Laboratories. This coincides with my wife Cheryl celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary this May. [Feb2016]

I have recently completed my 28th year at the Indiana State Department of Health Laboratories.  I started out as an analytical chemist in 1974 and now have been the Manager of the Microbiology Laboratory since 1999.  My daughter Abby will be graduating from high school this May and will be attending Purdue University in the Fall.  She has a hard time believing how large the RIHS graduating class of 1966 was (705).  Her class is less than 200.  [May2002]

Our Son passed away in 2002;Had he lived he would have been 40 this year. He was a 1990 Rocky graduate and 1988 Augustana graduate.  [June2011]

My husband David and I have always considered Rock Island our home, and I've never lived anywhere else.  However, we have had rather a unique situation the last eight years as David lived and worked in Indianapolis while I maintained our home in Rock Island - the same old 1921 house we started with.  We've raised our children in it, and now our grandchildren come over and run around the place.  For many reasons, we decided that I would not make the move to Indy in 1993.  Dave and I talk on the phone daily and see each other every chance we can.  Hopefully, he'll be retiring within the next 18 months and returning to Rock Island.  Like a lot of couples who have to cope with this type of situation, we've learned to be creative in nurturing our marriage relationship.  We try to make every minute count when we are together.

We will celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary on October 8th.  We actually began celebrating early with a trip to Maui, Hawaii recently.  It was great!

Our children are John (29) and Jennifer (26).  Both are Rocky and Augie grads.  John lives in the area and has two beautiful children whom we get to see on a regular basis.  Jen is a graduate student at Tufts, finishing her second year at the Fletcher School of International Law & Diplomacy.  She and her husband were married last October and live in the Boston area.

I completed my degree at Augustana College where I have continued to work for the past 22 years.  My current position as Coordinator of International Student Admissions allowed me to travel in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Korea.  I have met some fantastic students, and enjoyed the privilege of representing Augustana College in this way.

Another part of my work involves working as Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of the College, which has also offered opportunities for growth and challenge.

Finally, like a lot of kids who were in Glee Club and Chamber Choir, music still plays a major role in my life.  I participate in the music program at Edgewood Baptist (church pianist, soloist, & choir member for the past 35 years).  As a cancer survivor, I cherish each day of life, and do not take lightly the blessings of family, friends, and home.  [Jul2001]
