Michael Moody

Michael G. Moody, 36, of 918 Edgehill Court, Andalusia, died Sunday at his home.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island.  The Rev. J. Mark Barnes, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, Rock Island, will officiate, and William Wilson of Milan American Legion Post 569 will give the eulogy.  Burial will be in Andalusia Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by Milan, Andalusia, and East Moline American Legion Posts.

Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial sevices will be conducted by the Rock Island County 40&8, at 7 p.m.  Memorials may be made to an education fund for the Moody children.

Pallbearers will be Andy Misch, Jack Cook, John Nitz, Jack Smock, Maynard Kinnerman, and Richard Rockwell.

Mr. Moody was born Jan. 20, 1948, in Moline, the son of Francis G. and Betty Cole Moody.  He married Celesta Flynn Jan. 21, 1969, in Sierra Vista, Ariz.

He was employed by J.I. Case Co., Rock Island, for 11 years, and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Moody was a Life Member of American Legion Post 2000, Andalusia, of which he was a Past Commander; Commander of Rock Island County American Legion; Past 14th District Commmander for the State of Illinois; Past Commander of the Third Division in Illinois; Chairman of the Third Division Sons of the American Legion; and a member of Rock Island County 40&8, No. 237; United Auto Workers Local 806; and Andalusia Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Jennifer, and a son, Michael, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Moody of Rock Island; a brother, Patrick of Taylor Ridge; and his grandmother, Gladys Manary of Rock Island.
