Candace Laux Thomason

Mrs. Steven L. Thomason, 28, of 522 W. 16th Ave., Coal Valley, died at 6:02 last night at Moline Lutheran Hospital, following an extended illness.

The body is at the Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, where friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.  funeral services will be held Thursday, at 10 a.m. at South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island.  The Rev. Robert O. Williams, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.

Memorials may be made to the City of Hope or the Quad-City Cancer Therapy Center at Moline Lutheran Hospital.

The former Candace Laux was born June 24th, 1948, in Rock Island, the daughter of Chester H. and Charlotte H. Fout Laux.  She received her education in Rock Island and had attended Augustana College.  She had lived in Coal Valley for three months, living in Moline prior to that.

She was married to Mr. Thomason March 11, 1967 in Davenport.

She was a member at South Park church, and had been a Sunday School teacher there and was active in youth activities.  She also had served on the PTA board of the Lincoln-Irving school, Moline, and had also been active in Girl Scouts.

Surviving are the widower; two daughters, Trisha and Heather, both at home; and her parents in Rock Island.
