Craig Kasparian

Craig Allen Kasparian, 62, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at home.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery in the mausoleum chapel, with interment to follow at the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, or to Rock Island High School Basketball Boosters. Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Craig was born on Feb. 8, 1948, in Rock Island, to Jack and Dorothy Green Kasparian, and was then raised by his maternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth Green. He was a mechanic by trade and worked for many years at the family business, Green's Foreign Car Repair in Davenport.

Craig had been a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. He enjoyed bowling, racquetball, tennis and watching drag racing. He played the organ and sang and was fond of neighborhood stray cats, feeding and caring for many, in addition to his own two cats.

Survivors (and spouses) include his father, Jack Kasparian, Kentucky; sister, Susan Kalinchinsky, Rock Island; brother, David (Linda) Kalinchinsky, Milan; aunt, Phyllis (George) Vickroy, Rock Island; special cousins, Julie (Les) McAlister and Joel, Missouri, and numerous extended family. His birth mother and grandparents preceded Craig in death.
