Kyle R. Johnson

Dec. 30, 1948 - Aug. 13, 2018

Woodland, CA

He was born in Moline, IL. Kyle was an Army veteran and fought in the Vietnam war. He received his AA degree in drafting. Kyle was a police officer and correctional sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW, and enjoyed bowling and golfing. His number one passion was spending his time with his family and fur babies.

Kyle fought a heroic battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) for 10 years. Despite his bleak prognosis, Kyle always had a smile on his face and always saw the humor in things. Kyle was a very strong man and defeated the odds many times. No matter what he was going through, he was always concerned with other's well being. His positive attitude and contagious smile will never be forgotten.

Survived by his wife of 14 years, Kim Johnson; children, Jared, Jacob and Abigail Johnson; sister, Linnea Johnson; brother in law, Jimmy Schick; daughter in law, Gentry Johnson; mother in law, Daphne Griffin; five granddaughters, Rian, Kaidy, Reese, Camryn and Blake; best friends, Steve Leech, Jerry Bennett, John Belperio and Yolanda Mariscal. Preceded in death by parents, Lester Johnson and Guenevere Schreinert, and sister in law, Angie Schick-Dreyer.

Graveside service will be Thursday, Sept. 20 at 2:30 p.m., at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to ALS Association Greater Sacramento Chapter, 916-979-9265. Kraft Bros. entrusted.
