Matthew Raymond Holmer, 71, passed into the arms of his beloved Lord, surrounded by family, Feb. 2, 2019.
Born in India, Matt graduated from Rock Island High School and was a lifelong conchologist, owning and identifying 10,000 seashells from all over the world.
Despite contracting polio at age 11, Matt was very independent. He worked at a cardboard factory in Viola and retired from Goodwill Industries in Houston, Texas, after 15 years. Matthew lived at Harmony Healthcare in Chicago for several years, just down the hall from his mother, Shirley.
He is survived by four siblings and many loving nieces and nephews.
