David Norman Hayes, 50, of 420 10th St., Rock Island, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in Rock Island.
Private services will be held at Orr's Mortuary, Rock Island.
He was born Sept. 9, 1947, in Davenport, to Paul and Helen Leonard Hayes. He graduated in 1966 from Rock Island High School, where he was a track star. He married Dorothy Webb Dec. 2, 1990, in Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was in the home remodeling business as a painter. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rock Island. He was an avid fisherman and Chicago Bulls fan. He loved children.
Surviving are his estranged wife; stepdaughters, Delindo and Schequtial Webb; son, David M., Moline; grandchildren, Brandon, Spencer and Kayla; sister, Paulette E. Overton, Detroit, Mich.; brother, Jon L. Hayes, Davenport; nieces, Denise Hayes and Tracee Overton; nephews, Courtney and Donnie; and a very special friend, Ula Mangrum, Rock Island. His parents are deceased.
