Wesley Deibert

Wesley P. Deibert, 64, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday at Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Wes was born on Feb. 13, 1948, in Rock Island. He married Lonnie Ford on July 19, 1971, in Silvis. She died Oct. 16, 2002. He married Rose Miller on Dec. 18, 2004, in Las Vegas.

He retired from the city of Rock Island in 2005, where he was a community service officer. Wes previously served the city by working for the Centennial Bridge Commission and as a Rock Island police officer.

He was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; children (and spouses), Faith Ann (George) Isbell, Oak Grove, Ark., Dan (Jennie) Deibert, Moline, David (Amy) Deibert, Chesterfield, Mo., and Christine (Sean) Sehmann, Donahue, Iowa; stepchildren, Valerie (Mike) Matson, Rock Island, and Matt Hindman, Minneapolis, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and brother, Donald (Charlene) Deibert Jr., Cleveland, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lonnie; and an infant son, Robert Michael Deibert.
