Funeral services for William F. Battin, 25, of 2531 7th Ave., Rock Island, who died at 7:15 last night after an illness of five months, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Wheelan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.
The Rev. Harold Peterson, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Rock Island, will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. tomorrow.
Mr. Battin was born April 28, 1948, in Rock Island. He was a son of Sewell and Mareth Doering Battin. He was a life resident of Rock Island.
He married Priscella Smith Sept. 10, 1966, in Rock Island.
He was employed by the Sanitary Chemical Co., of Rock Island.
In addition to the widow, he is survived by a daughter, Theresa, at home; his mother of Rock Island; a brother, Donald Battin, Rock Island; two sisters, Mrs. Cheryl Engesser, Matherville, and Mrs. Susan Rogers, Rock Island; five half-brothers, Ralph Brown, East Moline, Gerald Brown, Rock Island, Roger Brown and Almer Battin, Moline, and Larry Mueller, Aledo; and a half-sister, Mrs. Anetta Chesser, Moline. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
