Michael Arneson

Michael Ray Arneson, 56, of De Soto, Kan., formerly of Rock Island, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, Kan., as the result of a car accident.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Olathe Christian Church, Olathe, Kan. Burial will be in De Soto Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Amos Family Chapel, Shawnee, Kan. Memorials may be made to the Michael Arneson Memorial Fund for the education of his grandchildren.

He was born Dec. 9, 1947, in Monticello, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. D.R. Arneson. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1966 and attended Black Hawk College for two years. He joined the Marine Corps for two years and served time in Japan. He married Claudia Caenen Nov. 25, 1972, in Shawnee.

Mr. Arneson was part owner of and worked at K.A.W. Valley Framing Components. He was an avid fan of the KU Jayhawks, Iowa Hawkeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife; daughters, Stephanie (Trey) Davis, Fayetteville, N.C., Jennifer Arneson, Kansas City, Mo; grandson, Wils Davis, Fayetteville; mother and stepfather, Jean and Jerry Lynch, Rock Island; twin sister, Cheryl (Pete) Ortiz, Coal Valley, and sister, Nancy (Carl) Simms, Leesburg, Fla.; brother, Jay (Sandy) Lynch, Davenport; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, two aunts, two uncles and his grandparents.
